     Il premio 100 Best Chefs è stato creato nel 2016 da Jürgen Pichler della rivista gastronomica internazionale Rolling Pin.
     La rivista "ROLLING PIN Jobs & Business", fondata da Gunther Kiem (1949–2007), è stata pubblicata per la prima volta nell'agosto 2003, sotto l'egida del caporedattore Gottfried Kremser e del direttore artistico Gerald Liebeg, dall'editore Media GmbH con sede a Graz in Austria. 
     Ogni anno la rivista internazionale di gastronomia "Rolling Pin" invita più di 3.000 dipendenti della gastronomia e dell'industria alberghiera a nominare quelli che considerano i migliori chef della Germania e dell'Austria, i "100 Best Chefs Germany" e "100 Best Chefs Austria".
