La competizione The Best Chef Awards, nata in Polonia nel 2017 da un’idea da Cristian Gadau, consulente per la ristorazione e creatore, e da Joanna Slusarczyk come piattaforma social, è cresciuta nel tempo fino a diventare un vero e proprio evento annuale itinerante arrivando a creare una classifica internazionale dei migliori chef al mondo The Best Chef ("TOP300" nelle prime due edizioni e "TOP100" dalla terza edizione).
Dall'Edizione 2024 si abbandona la classifica tradizionale, sostituendola con una premiazione degli chef sulla base all'impatto e all'abilità in tre categorie: 3 Knives (The Best), di cui vengono comunicati i primi 3 chef (TOP3), 2 Knives (World-Class) e 1 Knife (Excellent).
Dal 2023 "The Best Chef" è stata affiancata da The Best Pizza Chef ("TOP100").
